In an odd way, I feel kind of ... relieved. Because it's proved to me that that particular internet addiction of mine is broken.
Don't get me wrong, of course I adored the Harem in its heyday. But my love for Tolkien can never die, nor can Frodo ever diminish as my favourite hobbit. Those things are part of me for ever. So I don't feel the need to Void dive. I doubt I'll be saving anything from KD for posterity. I have enough Frodo/LOTR memorabilia stacked in my bedroom - discretely and tastefully displayed - anyway. :) And I still have a folder of Harem fics. Best of. :)
Saying I'm relieved though might sound very self-centred, because obviously a handful of people still treasure the place as a focal community point.
Moggy was a good guy. Saved us Harem gals when we got turfed out of our virtual home. I'll always be grateful for that.
Yeah, it's sad to think that the Harem won't be available online any more. I saved the zip file sssneaking kindly provided, but the dear old homestead's about to be boarded up. Bummer. :(
