Approximately one century after the rest of the planet, I have purchased an iPod. It's a Shuffle. Red. This is, most definitely, the coolest thing on earth. Tomorrow I plan to stuff it with everything that I've had rattling around on CDs for years. Then the downloading from iTunes begins. All those songs that I always wanted but never wanted to buy the whole album. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

What I'd also love to do tomorrow is see No Country For Old Men, but it's the first weekend of release and I think the theater will be packed. Hell, maybe I'll go anyway.

In my fantasy universe, the Coen Brothers take over production of Supernatural. Can you imagine?

I've never seen any of the Coen Brothers' films.

They make intensely violent, creepy, atmospheric movies, primarily set way out in the sticks -- usually Texas or elsewhere in the Southwest. Great to watch but not for the faint of heart.

Would you believe you were not the last person left on earth without an ipod (well, up to now, anyway)? I do not have one. That being said, I was thinking of asking for one for Christmas maybe. Sounds like you are enjoying yours and it also sounds like we are on the same page about wanting certain songs off certain albums (without buying the whole album). I'm about to show my ipod ignorance, so be warned. Question: Is the ipod limited to being used only with the headset or can it be attached to other kinds of speakers?

(Now don't you feel superior? Heheh!) :p

I've heard of DJs using iPods for party mixes etc., so I'm absolutely certain that you can attach the iPod to some sort of speaker. Now, I don't know if they can be attached to any old speakers (the way you used to be able to attach your Walkman). I've seen "docking stations" for iPods, like the one that Bose makes, but I think they're expensive and I don't know if my little Shuffle can be used with those. I'm sure that www.apple.com can give you more information.
