Okay, two episodes down and all I have to say is...

BEST SEASON EVAH.

So far...

I don't know if the writers took some kind of...course or went on some corporate retreat over the summer or what but whoa. It's like...this is what I've been wanting this show to be.

Full review to come tomorrow but...

TWO episodes in a ROW with Dean sleeping? Sleeping in THE CAR nonetheless?? I think I'm starting to believe in God too.

And WTF people? Is Jensen Ackles looking more gorgeous than ever or am I just so besotted that my perception is skewed?

And Castiel is just...whoa. Renders me inarticulate. LOVE LOVE LOVING this character. These writers are bringing their A-game. It's about fucking time.

Yes, I agree, this was another great episode. And Jensen is looking fine.

Castiel is a fascinating creature, but I don't think he's divine, no matter what he says. He threatened to toss Dean back into Hell. Angels may be God's warriors, but I can't see them doing something that evil.

Totally agree that Jensen is looking extra-smokin' this season.

Castiel rules. This season is riveting so far, and I hopehopehope the rest is as good.

But they would! Castiel is 100% right about angels in the Bible. They are sons of bitches. It was an angel who threw Adam and Eve out of Paradise, an angel who destroyed Sodom and supposedly an angel who guards the gates of hell to make sure no one can get out. Actually I don't know if any of that's Biblical but it's apocryphal. It's so great. So great. I love that they've abandoned the Whedonish snark and gotten down to business and are embracing this type of lore with no tongue in their cheeks. Like I said, about fucking time.

RIVETING! YES! It's like it's a whole new show! I notice there's a new producer in the credits, maybe he has something to do with it. Whatever, I just hope they keep it up!

Sam's powers seem to work primarily on demons...perhaps not on spirits? I kind of love that Meg brought up Sam's willingness to keep company with a demon who's body-snatching with no compunction. There's a real moral equivocacy here that's never been addressed (except by fans!) and I love that they're bringing it into the show.

You're right. It feels like Dean and Sam have both grown up. They're not boys anymore, they're men, and Dean especially, has been through such a soul-changing experience.

I know some people gripe about Bobby being overutilized but I really love the character. Maybe he doesn't need to be in every episode but I'm never disappointed by what he brings to the show.

I can't wait to do my review tomorrow. The show was so good I almost started taking notes during the middle of it but I couldn't tear myself away from the TV.

I totally agree - with this being the best season as well as Jensen looking absolutely gorgeous!

And I love the character of Castiel so far...I am kind of liking the idea of the avenging angels instead of the "fluffy Hallmark version."
