So the latest news is that Bristol Palin's shotgun wedding will happen right before the election.

Newsflash for the McCain campaign: This wedding ain't exactly Lady Di and the Prince of Wales caliber. If you genuinely think this would be "fantastic" for the campaign, you are not only using a knocked-up 17-year-old for your own gain but you're just...really, really stupid.

Looks like a marriage made in heaven to me. The poor kid isn't only knocked up, she'll probably wind up getting knocked around if she marries that dude. He looks like bad news to me.

They both look like a couple of not-too-bright deer in the headlights. Mostly when I think of this whole thing I imagine what a hand-wringing uproar there would have been if Obama had a pregnant teenager living under his roof. HOLY SHIT. It would have been the biggest scandal since Clinton got a blowjob. "He can't run his family, how can he run the country?" "These are family values we sure don't need in the White House." "A terrible example for America's young people." And that's the polite stuff. I can just imagine what sort of racist "typical black behavior" crap would be flying around.
