You know that Friskies commercial where the little gray tabby is transported via the deliciousness of Friskies into a psychedelic wonderland that sort of looks like a cross between Yellow Submarine and Teletubbies and the original paperback cover of Fellowship of the Ring? And he's like, on a little boat and pawing at the big LSD flowers and you're thinking, man, how'd they get that cat to do all that stuff? Yeah, I really love that Friskies commercial. It was almost worth sitting through this dog of an episode just to see that trippy l'il kitty. Two thumbs up for the Friskies commercial!

I heard that the inspiration for that commercial is: What do cats see when they're staring into space?

I want to know what kind of madness was going on in the studio when they filmed that. Like, were there just half a dozen trainers running around waving little wands at the kitty or what? Cause that cat is just GONE, yo.

LMAO!!

Well, I will miss Gabe and I liked Leader Dean being back, with the whole swaying an Archangel to his side, telling off the Gods, and saving the humans. And Jensen looked frakking gorgeously pretty, as usual. Seriously, the longer hair is making his freckles stand out more and making him look younger!

But yea, otherwise, I got nothing.

Oh, Kali was kind of cool. But I was really disappointed in how they portrayed the Gods and how easily Lucifer picked them off. LAME!

I have to admit that this episode DID mark a milestone for me -- the very first time I've ever turned the show off. The second those motherfucking Ghostfacers showed up, I scrambled for my remote and clicked over to The Office. And I stayed there until SPN's commercial break was over and I was sure those motherfucking GF's weren't coming back.

But the Friskies commercial made it all worthwhile.

um, reading between the lines here, but are you suggesting I shouldn't bother staying up late to stream the ep.?

Sad, 'cause I have a big soft spot for the other pantheons (I'm as spoiled as can be already, so don't worry about that).

[identity profile] fates3.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
LMAO! I watch streaming vid and chat with some friends during the show, so I just took out my earbuds, and chatted, LOL!

I can't even remember the Friskies commercial. As a cat lover, I will have to watch my SPN tape tonight, after I tape it, and see what you are talking about, LOL!

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Well, let's put it this way: if you enjoy really shitty Neil Gaiman fanfic, an asinine cameo by those mothefucking Ghostfacers and a totally gratuitous blonde bimbo in black-lace boyshorts and lucite fuck-me heels, you might like this. Otherwise...I'd recommend you get your beauty sleep.

The Friskies commercial came at the very end. It might not have aired in your market.

Also I thought Cas was in every ep until the end of the season?

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I guess Cas has gone away for a little while. Wherever he is -- heaven, hell, limbo -- I'm sure it's better than being in this episode.

I saw the Friskies commercial! Two paws up!

WHY can't this show put together 2 decent episodes in a row anymore?? I really wonder what would be happening right now if the show hadn't been picked up for a 6th season? Or was this their master plan all along? If so...yechh.

[identity profile] mangokulfi.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yep and just when I thought show was getting back on track. So much fail tonight. I'm in Canada so I don't even get the Friskies commercial, thank you very much simulcasting. :(

This post is awesome.

This week's episode...not so much.

[identity profile] ninetwentyfive.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
jealous.

i didn't even get to see the friskies commercial.

WHY can't this show put together 2 decent episodes in a row

Somewhere along the line, the producers of this show decided to institute a tradition wherein every intense, dramatic, game-changing episode would immediately be followed by a semi-comedic piece of crap, perhaps because they feared that an excess of exuberant squee and nail-biting intensity would be unhealthy for the audience. I would like to assure the producers that the audience is more than capable of handling serious episodes without needing a mental health break, and that therefore, this long-standing tradition has outlived its dubious usefulness and should be retired.

Re: they have a quest...

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2010-04-24 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know anything about Dungeons and Dragons but I do know that the premise of this week's episode was almost entirely plagiarized from Neil Gaiman's American Gods. They have ripped off Gaiman in the past, but never so blatantly, and while Gaiman apparently does not have a problem with it, I have to admit that I do. If the show's writers are going to make fun of us for writing Supernatural fanfic, then surely they deserve to be mocked for writing Neil Gaiman fanfic -- and not even doing a very good job of it. The teleplay for this episode was from the crack team of Loflin and Dabb and while they pulled off some good moments in "Dark Side of the Moon," I am back to wondering why these two guys are given so many episodes to write, when most of them, in my opinion, have been such clunkers. If it's true that they were brought onto the show because they are old friends of Ben Edlund, then I'd like to suggest that Mr. Edlund find himself some new friends.

That is a shame since the Friskies commercial was definitely the high point of the evening.

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2010-04-24 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Not so much indeed. Why do they always have one stinker within the last few episodes of the season?

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2010-04-24 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I will have to find you a YouTube. It's a very good commercial.

[identity profile] pedx.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't get the Ghostfacers thing. I still don't get it.
