The demon said that Brady hadn't been Brady since the middle of their sophomore year. Sam had apparently known him enough to know when that had happened--Thanksgiving break when Brady came back totally changed (and not in a good way). He talked about Sam trying to help Brady thru this (drug/alcohol abuse, I think?).
