I think it was more to hint at Mitch Pileggi being in the episode by ripping off the X-Files tagline

Yeah, that thought occurred to me too. And I also thought, oh how clever -- NOT.

At least I enjoyed the first 10 minutes.

I did too. In fact I was sitting there being surprised by how much I was getting into the juxtaposition between Dean's old life and his new one and how in spite of the outward appearance of normalcy you could tell that Dean was still very much trying to adapt to this new life. In fact I pretty much dug everything up until Sam showed up.
