I'm kind of glad they didn't, though, because it's bordering on telling instead of showing. The brilliance of "The End," as it was finally produced, was that we didn't even need a speech like this to know that Castiel was this devoted to Dean. It was all shown in Misha's acting and the emotion that came through between the lines. Subtlety is rarely this show's strong point, but this was one episode where it won out.
