1) A Charlie Brown Christmas is still the best thing ever put on television. I'm probably on my fortieth viewing of this and it just never, ever gets old, and I still turn to mush when Linus reads the nativity story and the gang starts singing Hark the Herald Angels. "God and sinners reconciled." What a lovely thought.
2) Boy am I getting bored and annoyed by comparisons between Supernatural and the collective works of Joss Whedon. I know Whedon has legions of fans but I've always been in the "I don't get it" category when it comes to his stuff, whether it's Buffy, Angel or Firefly. I could never get into his characters and his constant use of comic relief always kicked me out of the mood. There are a lot of elements of Whedonverse that I don't want to see in SPN -- the humor, the ensemble casting, the mega-apocalyptic story arcs. I've always thought SPN owed a lot more to The X-Files than anything by Whedon. Sorry to all you Whedon fans, but my mileage REALLY varies on this one.
3) I love Dean's bow-leggedness and the fact that he's shorter than Sam. I love that Jensen Ackles is bulked up for this role and wears so many layers of clothing that he just looks like a tank sometimes, like a pit bull, especially next to Sam's lankiness. I love that he's so pretty that I sometimes burst out laughing over how pretty he is. A pretty, pretty pit bull.
That's all.
