Oct. 17th, 2007 07:25 pmI'm seeking some enlightenment from those of you well-versed in Supernatural -- the show itself, not so much the fandom, although these things would have most likely been discussed in fandom. It's sometimes hard to separate fact from opinion when reading fan discussions, so I'm wondering...
1) I've seen suggestions that writer/producer Sera Gamble is not terribly fond of Dean's character and her interpretation of him (as a flat-out arrogant jackass) sometimes has to be toned down. True?
2) I've heard that CW head Dawn Ostroff is not terribly fond of the show, period, and that every season so far has boiled down to a battle of wills to keep it on the air. Supposedly she's been quite vocal about her dislike for the show. True? It seems pretty impolitic to me that a network president would openly slam one of her own properties, no matter what her personal opinion of it happens to be.
