Oh, sweet Jesus almighty, I loved that episode. Damn near perfect, CLASSIC Supernatural.

Dean getting beat up. Dean photogenically bleeding. Dean sleeping under cozy blankies!!

Sam's "police sketch." Sam and Dean, together again, sans Ruby, Bela or anyone else. Wonderful use of folklore/fairy tales. A genuinely surprising ending.

Dean telling Sam to let him go. Dean walking off by himself down dark hallway. Oselle actually getting misty-eyed. Oh, Dean!! Baby!!! OH!!

I'd have to descend into babytalk if I really wanted to describe how I loved this episode. Oh what the hell...I wuv oo! I wuv oo Supernatuwal!!! I wuv oo DIS MUCH!!!

*hearts hearts hearts all over the joint*

ETA: And did I mention OUTSTANDING bowleggyness? FABULOUS!

Loved the shouting in the car. So perfectly them. So good. Loved the fairy tale premise, and that spooky little girl. Wow. The frog prince. Knew that line was coming, and he delivered it perfectly.

Adored the fight. Dean flying through the air. All the angst. Dean cuddled up in bed, looking angelic. (I knew you were loving that. I said to myself, Oselle is dying of the love right now) Sam going off to try to bargan with the crossroad demon. And, yeah, what a great ending.

I SO WAS!! It was like they read my mind or something! Wasn't I just saying we need MORE DEAN SLEEPING!?!?

Sam sneaking out of the motel room was fabulous. I was like, "You are SO NOT going to the Crossroads!" And he SO DID!

WTF with the demons being all coy about who's got Dean's number? Who do you THINK is waiting for Dean's soul? Maybe I've been watching too much Constatine but if it's not the big guy himself who's holding Dean's contract, I'm gonna be REAL disappointed.

I don't know if we're supposed to interpret Sam's actions as evil or desperation. I'm sure they intend to keep us guessing.

Of course, now that the writers are going on strike, I guess we're gonna be in suspense for a while.

Can't you see him making a sandwich in the middle of the night in one of the boys' crappy motel kitchenettes, listening to some Dean Martin and smiling away as he tells Sam that there's no way out of the contract, he owns Dean's ass now?

If the rest of the season could be like this, I'd be so happy. I'm ready to send a mash note to Cathryn Humphries. Alas, next week's episode appears to have a high Bela content. Sigh. I guess I'll enjoy these brief respites when we can get them.
