This editorial on pool hustling from Sunday's NY Times has absolutely nothing to do with Supernatural, but it made me think of Dean Winchester anyway. Maybe just that description of "dripping with charisma and eccentricity." Anyway, enjoy.

Oh, it's quite sad. Btw, I wonder if they will ever make a scene where Dean really hustles. *drools*

He's dripping with charisma and eccentricity. I'm sure he could make a pretty nice living off hustling.

Pool hustling, of course.

Charisma, yes. Eccentricity? Well, yeah, I guess you could say a guy who hunts demons in a muscle car with his brother and has no visible means of support is eccentric. But he looks so good doin' it.

He looks pretty damn good doing anything.

And yeah, I'd say he's eccentric. I'd definitely have trouble imagining him trying to fit into any sort of normal life, and not just because of what he's experienced since childhood. I don't think he'd ever be the suburban family man, no matter what. One of the things that I took away from the "What Is and Never Should Be" episode was the irony that the life Dean imagined for himself probably would have bored him to death in no time.
