Feb. 12th, 2008 07:36 pmI'm excited about the return of Jericho tonight.
First of all, the only reason the show is back is because of fan intervention. "Save Our Show" campaigns sometimes get dismissed as a lot of nutty fangirl hysteria but this was one case where it actually worked.
Second of all, I really want to see this show do better than it did last season. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes, but the show quickly seemed to get mired down in a lot of pointless and dull relationship stuff. It's the END OF THE WORLD for God's sake -- I don't care who was sleeping with whom before the bombs fell. I love the post-apocalypse genre but the show seemed almost to forget about the apocalypse altogether. A review I read in Time said that Season Two is going to backburner the relationship stuff and really focus on life an America that has fallen apart. That's what I want to see and the commercials for tonight's season premiere look pretty promising. The move from an eight o'clock to a ten o'clock timeslot also seems like a good idea -- you can cover things a lot differently at ten p.m. than during "the family hour."
And that Skeet Ulrich is no slouch at filling out a t-shirt.
