Two examples of why I don't watch network "news:"

1) After all the campaign blather about whether Obama seemed too "elitist" and all the glorification of Joe Sixpack wisdom and small-town values, it was pretty fucking bizarre to see high-society cadaver Sally Quinn on Dateline last night lockjawing about how vital it is for the President and Mrs. Obama to be part of the Washington D.C. social circuit. Gee, Lady Quinn, don't you think he has a FEW more important things to worry about than making the Beltway party scene? Go keep a crypt somewhere, you hag.

2) Joe Scarborough on this morning's Today show blithely uttered the jaw-dropping nonsense that the "partisan nastiness of the past 12 years" was "a generational thing." No, Joe, it was a REPUBLICAN thing. The endless persecution of Bill Clinton for one non-scandal after another and his eventual impeachment over a blowjob was not carried out by members of any particular "generation." It was carried out by REPUBLICANS. Just as the partisan hackery, cronyism and corruption of the past eight years was not "generational." It was REPUBLICAN. Say it loud, Joe: REPUBLICAN. REPUBLICAN REPUBLICAN REPUBLICAN.

No, the bullshit will never stop. A week ago, one of Bushie's speechwriters was on PBS, yammering that we haven't had a terrorist attack since 911. And oh by the way, now we all know who Osama bin Laden is because of our great intelligence -- because after all, Clinton never warned us about Osama bin Laden. EXCUSE ME, I didn't care about politics in 1998, but even I remember that Clinton tried to take out bin Laden in Sudan -- and even then the fuckwads were complaining it was a "distraction" from the Lewinsky scandal. I watched a TV on 911 and said right away -- bin Laden. So stop it, you idiot repubs.

As for the society scene, apparently some of the mavens are miffed that Michelle isn't bringing Sasha and Malia over for tea. Good for the Obamas. These parties are just another blow job the mavens are trying to sell, trying to buy access etc. But what do they have to offer? Fine tea? Cripe. Not this time -- Obama serves US. They are just stunned and whiny that Obama doesn't NEED them, they are no longer important. Oh boo hoo hoo. Now that's Change.

Well, here it is five days after the inauguration and the media has already picked up and run with the idea that if Gitmo is closed we'll be flooded with terrorists, and oh by the way, GWB inherited 9/11 from the Clinton administration, didncha know? And meanwhile Rush Limbaugh is pronouncing how much he's hoping for the Obama administration to fail, great patriot that he is. Right, Limbaugh, hope for the whole country to go down the shitter so that you can keep your ratings up and be able to afford more Oxycontin, Viagra and underage Dominican prostitutes. Ugh.
