Well my friends, the results are in. 75% 78% of you voted for "Cas" over "Cass."
However, I've discovered that the "official" sources, including script sides, the network closed captioning, the Season 4 DVD subtitles and no less an authority than Super Wiki spell it "Cass." Conformist that I am, (and seeing as how that's my personal preference anyway) I'm sticking with "Cass." Plus now I don't have to change the spelling in the other stories! I hope that this will not impede your enjoyment of any Future!Castiel unrequited-pining-away fics that I may kick out including those that include but may not be limited to stories featuring Hurt!Dean, Sick!Dean, Naked!Wet!Dean and AlloftheAbove!Dean.
On a related note, just over14% 12% of you voted for the "Laverne/do it" option.
Thanks for voting!!

Date: 2009-10-29 02:46 am (UTC)But you may now need to write a fic in which a delirious AlloftheAbove!Dean calls Cass Laverne, and Cass says "Surely you jest," and Dean says, "Stop calling me Shirley ."
And then they do it.
(no, seriously, any and all Cass-Dean fic from you, whatever the nomenclature, is good news!)

Date: 2009-11-03 01:09 am (UTC)I like this idea and hadn't thought of it myself. My readers are smarter than I am!!
Cass is usually short for Cassandra, I'd imagine, but in some of William Faulkner's books it's short for "McCaslin," which is both a first name and a last.
