I promised myself I'd be productive today and I've already spent 90 minutes on this fucking laptop. I HAVE THINGS TO DO. I need to leave you all to your own devices at least for a few days, but I don't want to leave you with nothing to do. Please feel free to avail yourself of the entertainment behind the cut.

This picture makes me think that I would very much enjoy having intimate relations with this rather disheveled-looking, thigh-holster-sporting gentleman. Preferably many such relations, and very intimately. Or perhaps to be more accurate, I'd like this guy to bang me into such a blissful state of satisfied stupefaction that I would have to relearn the alphabet.

Have a nice weekend.

The thigh holster is, in fact, why God made him bow-legged.

Would you believe that I have considered THE EXACT SAME THING!? It's like he's just anatomically perfect for showing that thing off. Meaning the thigh holster.

Yes, but you have to credit the creator, [livejournal.com profile] lilsnbug.

Where the heck is YOUR icon from??

Credited she will be.
And wow I've had this icon for like forever... It is back to the Wendigo days I believe. LOL.
They were so young and innocent back then.

I was wondering, because he does look so young that I actually thought this might be from Dark Angel and I was like, "Whoa, I don't remember THAT."

Season One seems like it was a whole lot more than four years ago.

From: [identity profile] lizard971.livejournal.com
Haha! See it's funny because after replying I started watching Wendigo and I kept thinking how much more he looked like Alec than actual!Dean... and his voice is so much deeper now.
Yup that boy grew up in those 4 years.
And it does seem like forever ago, but on another side, I can't believe it has already been 4/5 years. Can't believe I've been so invested in this show for so long. LOL. What am I gonna do next year??!!! NNnoooooo!!!!

I'd never heard of Jensen Ackles when SPN premiered but I remember thinking that the actor playing Dean looked older than the 26 he claimed to be. Now I look at Season One and yes, he looks like such a kid. Definitely still a lot of Alec there.

I don't think you have to worry too much about next year. I'm thinking Season Six is pretty much a lock at this point.

From: [identity profile] lizard971.livejournal.com
I didn't link Jensen/Dean to Alec until after someone mentioned it towards the end of S2. LOL. I was that bad with apying attention to the actors names. I just kept thinking he looked familiar. Duh.

As for S6. I know that the Network is all for it most likely and that Kripke is seriously considering it and so are a lot of people. I know they've been pitching ideas here and there as to how to keep going after the APocalypse and make it acceptable. I also know that a lot of people here in VC are not willing to do another season and said they wouldn't be part of it (of course they say that now, but facing S6 & no job... LOL) and I'm convinced that changing the team can change the feeling of a Show. So, as much as I want it to go on, I don't know if I'd be happy with it. What I've heard as a possible plotline to keep going doesn't satisfy me because I've come to love the Angst and the complicated storyline and it would have none of it. I'm not ready to go back to a S1 type of show. LOL. I want complicated mythology!! And I don't know how they can pull that one... but oh how I wish they do!! By all means, DO keep the angst coming!!

Wow... sorry... I got carried away here. LOL. And I'm not sure I make much sense, especially since I hate re-reading myself. :P Damm you Show for taking me where I didn't plan to go!

What I've heard as a possible plotline to keep going doesn't satisfy me because I've come to love the Angst and the complicated storyline and it would have none of it.

Are these things you've heard from the show's writers/producers or things fans have been speculating upon? Because I've heard some fandom speculation that S6 would go back to a straightforward MoTW format closer to S1, but I don't usually follow interviews with show staff so I don't know if that's been confirmed by the show.

I don't think SPN would hold my attention long if there wasn't SOME larger mytharc to knit the story together, not to mention it would be damn near impossible to do 22 straight MoTW episodes. It would just get repetitive. Even S1 had mytharc episodes that revolved around John and the YED. Nevertheless, if the CW wants to keep them around for a sixth season, I'm not sure what they could do about it. I don't know how these things work. I know the co-creators of Gilmore Girls both refused to be a part of Season 7, and Larry David bailed on the last season of Seinfeld so it is possible for creators to walk away from a show that remains in production. I don't know how such an event would affect SPN. I sometimes think that Eric Kripke is not exactly the strongest creative link at that show, and it wouldn't necessarily suffer without him the way Gilmore and Seinfeld suffered without their creators. I don't know who would go with Kripke if he left. The worst thing would be if either Jensen or Jared left -- the show is built upon the brothers and it just won't work if one of them isn't there anymore.

If it's purely up to the CW, I'm sure there will be a sixth season. Who'll stick around to make it happen, that's the question. I know a lot of them have said (quite vehemently) that they don't want to do another season but like you said, if it's a choice between a sixth season and being unemployed, they might go with the former. But I don't want anyone to do a sixth season if they're just going to be phoning it in. That's just depressing.

It's something coming from an undisclosable (is that a word?) source of mine directly in contact with Kripke. (haha I feel like a delusional spy) He said this idea had been pitched and it was one Kripke & Co were considering (I don't know what the others are) should there be S6. I'll try to find out more about it and what the future of Show might be before Xmas. :D This idea would indeed end up being something more like a MoTW thing, which is why I wouldn't like it. How boring would it be to not have an arc to hold the whole thing together? Of course it would still be possible to add some sort of background story to make it interesting. Nothing as big as the Apocalypse or Luci/Mike, unless they don't close that arc after all.

(damm we went all meta crazy with my roomie... if Kripke doesn't right Luci!Bobby post Apocalypse, we are. LOL. We were already planning to do it last season, but now your post-Apo idea makes it even better!! \0/)

I have no idea about the behind the scene contracts stuff. I believe Jensen & Jared don't want to do S6, but are so far contracted to. I imagine though that it's possible to break a contract if they really want to. Buy you last year somehow. And I don't think anyone would want SN without these two. Not the other one, not the crew/staff, not the fans, not the CW... Then again money usually overrules a lot of things and loyalty is no exception. Sadly.
As for the writers, I believe even if Kripke left, it could work if they kept most of them around. but like you said, this whole thing is Eric's baby and I don't know who would like to stay behind without him. (Here's hoping that he wouldn't want it to be done without him aswell. HAHA)

In the end, I guess I just want an extra season like this one with everyone happy to be there and get it done.
And now that I think about it... I'm not Jared is that happy lately. I found his acting off in the past 2 eps. Or maybe it was just the way Sam was written. I don't know. Anyway, we have 2 months to wonder. And I have to investigate further. LOL.

Yeah that took much longer to write than it should have. Sorry. :P

Well I'll tell you what. You tell your sekrit source to put a bug in Kripke's ear that the fans are opposed to an entire season based on MoTW episodes -- especially if the recent MoTW episodes are any indication of the lameness that we can expect. While you're at it, why don't you funnel a copy of my Lazarus Came Forth story to the Big Guy LOL. Or any of my semi-award-winning SPN spec scripts, available on [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr's website. Also tell him that I'm thinking of moving to Canada for the health insurance benefits and could use a job, so he needs to stick around for another season. I have a lengthy resume and am good at many things, including administrative duties, coffee-fetching and photocopying.

I know that J & J have in the past expressed no desire to go past a 5th season but lately I've heard them mitigating that opposition. So they might be locked into a sixth season, especially if the CW threw enough money at them. I think that if the scripts are good enough they'll be less opposed to Vancouver's relative isolation and gloomy weather. If Jensen gets hitched after S5, which I suspect he will, he may want to move to Los Angeles but he should be reminded that David Duchovny did the same thing and it didn't exactly further his career. I am old and wise and I know these things.

Haha! Trust me. Telling him that stand-alones is not what we are looking forward too was definitely on my to-share list. As you said it so well, especially after the glimpse of what it could be they've shown us. Then again, I think the writers pretty much threw everything they always wanted to do/say/show in those episodes, not fearing for their future anymore. Lame. (that's my take on it and only mine)
But yes, I'll make sure to let him know about our doubts and suggest he passes it to Kripke. Which he most surely will. He is old and wise as you are. LMAO!!!

I'm afraid I won't be of much help for the job thing as it didn't work for me. Haha. Of course I think I'm lacking the lengthy resume to begin with. ^^
I don't know where you'd be coming from but "gloomy Vancouver weather" is an understatement!! I don't think we've seen this thing people call the... "sun" I believe it is... at all this month... nope, not that I can recall. ;) Think twice before packing!

(oh look what I found... this reply I wrote 6 hours ago... *facepalm*)

LOL I've just had a wonderful idea -- take the premise of "The End" and build that out into a whole season. Sam and Dean in the post-apocalypse. God knows I'D watch it.

Date: 2009-11-25 03:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lizard971.livejournal.com
Haha... I might be waching that indeed. As long as you know... Dean keeps the thigh holster. :P
But then would it mean that they don't stop the Apocalypse and that Sam says yes? Or Luci finds a new suitable vessel to hold the distance?
There is some exploring to do here.
I always thought Bobby would be awesome as Luci. :D Yes, I'm twisted like that. So I would be right there watching Bobby tear up the world while Sam & Dean do some damage control until they can get him back. And it would be so much harder on Sam and on Dean. Ohhh dear Man Pain how I miss you.

Date: 2009-11-25 03:12 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com
Hm, well in Endverse, Bobby was dead or I assume he was dead. They could find a way to retool that storyline so that Sam and Dean could still be fighting side-by-side. Lucifer could just keep hopping from vessel to vessel, I'm sure he could still do plenty of damage. The important thing would be a whole season of THIGH HOLSTER. Jesus Christ, I'd tune in just for that.

Date: 2009-11-25 03:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lizard971.livejournal.com
I forgot Bobby was dead. Haha. BUT then again that happened in a verse where Sam said yes to Luci so... thing would be different. And Luci can jump in and heal Bobby.
I need to get that idea to Eric. Hihi. And make sure he knows the TH is a MUST.

(now let me finish the reply I had for the other part of your reply!! :P)
