Dear Flisters,

Please to be stop posting that vid of Jensen playing guitar and singing with Jason Manns at the Jus in Bello con in Rome. Because if I see it on my flist one more time...I'm gonna HAVE to click it. And then there won't be any more Oselle. There'll just be some fetal creature rocking in the corner babbling, "Beautiful adorable beautiful adorable..."

Seriously, WTF. Every pic I've seen from that con he just looks fucking radiant. I've never seen him look that happy or relaxed at any con, or that bloody stunning. I'd say, what is up with him, looking so extra-radiant and all, but I guess being young and rich and loving your work and being in love and getting paid six figures to spend a springtime weekend IN FUCKING ROME and be adored by pretty Italian girls is enough to make anyone radiant. I sure wouldn't know.

And I had no idea SPN was so big in Italy. How is it possible that this show continues to have such poor ratings when it's a bonafide worldwide phenomenon?

Sigh,
Oselle

Even when I am not a part of the fandom in question, your expressions regarding said fandom, well, delight and amuse me. :p

It's always amusing to listen to crazy people babble. And we do appreciate the pudding.

I may be in a distinct minority, but I've stayed away from that vid because I don't particularly like Jensen's singing voice.

I saw a vid of Jensen singing about a year ago and I agree that the guy's never going to be able to quit his day job to pursue a singing career but that's beside the point. The amateurishness itself is part of the insane charm of it all -- it's like listening to someone sing in the shower. And you can tell that he's always nervous about singing in public but he just likes doing it so much that his own enthusiasm makes up for what he lacks in vocal ability and OMG IT'S JUST SO ADORABLE.

We Italina woman know beauty when we see it!! I'm surprised an artist hasn't asked them to pose for a statue or painting...

And btw-- can you give me the link to the Jensen vid.. at least if I babble only the dogs will notice.

Nuh-uh, no links. Just hit my friends page up there and you'll see at least two of them.

Run--save yourself! It's too late for the rest of us!

(seriously, I think a Martian would fall in love with him after seeing that vid--it's not just the voice, it's the unexpected sweetness of the whole thing...)

I've seen videos of him singing in the past and I agree that he's just ridiculously adorable when he does it. It's like...he knows he's not that great at it and he has this nervous tension about him when he starts that just gets swept away by how much he enjoys doing it and yes SWEET is the only word that applies.

Seriously, it seems like I keep hearing of pockets of places where this show is hugely popular. It's a mystery!

I remember when the S4 DVD was released last year, the Best Buy on 23rd Street was practically sold out of them by lunchtime. And I've heard it referenced in some of the strangest places...like Lev Grossman, media critic for Time magazine recently mentioned it and I was like...Lev Grossman watches Supernatural? So it really is just a huge cult phenomenon.

Looking at adorable pictures or videos of Jensen being Jensen makes many, many brain cells die and bursts tiny veins in my heart that I may need someday, so my very existence depends upon resisting.

My brain's already a lost cause, thanks to one Misha Collins and his inimitable ways. (see icon) Might as well go all out then and let myself flail over stupid Jensen and stupid singing and his goddamn adorable freckles. *kicks dirt*

I'm assuming that fangirling over the characters is more allowed for your brain preservation? If so, a friend just introduced me to this amazing video by [livejournal.com profile] mithborien, which you may have already seen since I think it was made in February: http://mithborien.livejournal.com/93666.html?view=406242#t406242

The Dean I see here reminds me very much of the one in the All Saints stories -- except maybe a slightly shinier, pre-apocalypse angsty Dean.

Because the American TV viewing audience is more enamored with mindless crap things like "Survivor" than quality television.

In truth, I only see the ratings as overnights, which are posted without 3-day or 10-day DVD playback ratings added in. I know that SPN does much better when those are included. But as far as real-time viewing, SPN (and all other CW shows) comes in dead last, often trailing way behind even the Spanish-language network...which I believe is not even available in all markets. I have no idea why the CW is such a gutter of a network when Fox, another upstart, pretty quickly managed to give "The Big Three" a run for the money.

I watched it.

I have turned into a mindless puddle of lady goo - for pity sake, I'm babbling like a teenager with her first celebrity crush, he's so freaking gorgeous at that con!

Takes my breath away.

This is exactly why I won't watch that vid. I have little enough brain as it is, I need to keep it sound and...non-gelid.

My own travels in Italy taught me that it is not only one of the most beautiful countries on earth but is also populated by the most beautiful people -- both men and women, of all ages. Even the grandmamas are beautiful. And they're all so fuckin' stylish. People talk about the French, but only an Italian can make jeans and a t-shirt look like effortless haute couture. I hate them.

OK I watched it. I started grinning like a loon about 5 secs in and I couldn't stop until the end. ariadne was right. It is just ridiculously sweet. And he's kinda bashful but kinda really proud and excited that for making himself do it at the same time. He's just so...

OK I'll stop now 'cuz I don't want to tempt you over to the dark side or anything.

It's such fun to watch because I think he knows it's not something he excels at, so he does it just for the love of doing it. And it's always lovely to see someone be passionate about something -- especially when it's not their job.

Guh.

Honestly, I think he does a reasonable job of the singing. I've certainly heard worse, and he has a good sense of musicality. He commits to it, sells it, he's in tune. Yep, not bad at all.

But it's the shy little bending forward, dipping of the head that kills me. Slays me. I am but a corpse writing to you.

Yeah, see, I read all the comments about the shyness and the endearing nervousness and the "Don't get mad if I screw it up" and the bashful adorableness of it all and that's exactly why I won't watch. He's already beautiful, I don't need to see him being a blushing little sweetie-pie on top of it.

I think that is where he does especially well - his voice isn't perfect, it's not trained but he commits, like you said. And emotion can be more important than being smooth when it comes to the enjoyment of listening to a song. He sells it.

And he's just freakin' adorable doing it!

I couldn't resist, I watched it. And was promptly reduced to said puddle at his adorableness. It's really disturbing how goddamn endearing he can be.

The Italians are the hottest people on the face of the Earth, without question. And I don't just say that because I AM half Italian, ha ha. No, they truly are, AND they have the best food in the entire world. I'm going in May, woot!

I had some of the best tortellini I've ever had a TRUCK STOP somewhere between Florence and Milan. A TRUCK STOP. So you can imagine what the food's like at a real restaurant.

GO TO FLORENCE. Rome, Venice and Milan are awesome but Florence was the most beautiful place I've ever been in my life.
