Keeping it REALLY short this week:

1) Closeup of Dean sleeping in his clothes?
Yes, please.

2) Closeup of Dean waking up in his clothes and rubbing his eyes all adorable and sleepy?
Thank you, I'd love some.

3) Long shot of Dean stretched out on bed in his clothes having strangely extended conversation over his shoulder in that position?
Why, don't mind if I do.

4) Dean on rooftop with long-range sniper rifle?
I'll take a slice of that.

Also:

Some very pretty photography, especially Sam and Dean walking side-by-side underneath the highway overpass. I got choked up when dog-Lucky walked forlornly away. I would've kept him, but only if he agreed to be a dog all the time. The parallels they were trying to draw between Dean's situation with Lisa and Lucky's found family were so heavy you couldn't even call them anvils -- I think we have to start talking in terms of gross tonnage here. Nevertheless, see (1) through (4), above, especially (1) to (3) because I haven't seen such good sleepy-Dean since...God, since way back in Season One's notoriously gratuitous pan-up at the beginning of "Phantom Traveler." And God, back then he was wearing these tight-fitting sort of bikeshorts, and he had this amazing muscle in his calf and and his tush was just....mmmmft. Yeah. Back to basics. That's what I like.

Maybe they finally realized that Jared wasn't so good with the subtle nuance thing so they wrote this storyline just for him.

Sleepy Dean is magnificently adorable. But all I kept thinking was he's back to sleeping in his clothes. Guess he doesn't feel safe enough to pad around barefoot anymore. Oh Dean! :(

I really did get off on that padding around barefoot.

I could have happily watched 1-3 for the entire hour.

Dean looked especially beautiful tonight because he was hoping his bf might pop down for a visit.

Ouch. Sam doesn’t care about Dean. That hurt, really bad. It has made me think more about Sam’s motives for leaving Dean to live with Lisa for a year and then showing up. If he doesn’t care about Dean, then giving him a shot at a normal life surely can’t have been the reason for not telling him he was out of Hell. And if he doesn’t care about Dean, then why did he show up at all? And if he doesn’t care about Dean why did he want Dean hunting with him again?

More and more I suspect that the reveal about Sam’s soul is a subplot and there is something much bigger to come that will give Dean more to do than angst over Sam. I think Dean is independently important in this storyline… please let it be so. And please give us some Cas.

ETA Just wondering also whether this was some sort of anvil for why Sam tracked down Dean. The skinwalkers insinuated themselves into these families… could Sam be a sleeper, waiting for the signal to turn on Dean?

Seriously hon your plotting is fantastic. I can't see the Show ever going that deep. Sleeper Sam? Nice one!

Lucky for me I'm the world's easiest to please fan and just accept a car load of memories saving the world ;)

I doubt it. If Sam was going to turn on Dean, what would be the reason? To kill Dean or to turn him into something inhuman? If it was either one of those, Sam could have done so easily during the entire year that Dean was living with Lisa and had his guard at least somewhat down. Why go through all the trouble of dragging Dean back into hunting and then turn on him?

The only thing I can see is that maybe Sam is supposed to recruit Dean for something, though I can't imagine what. Using the "getting my soul back" as a ruse to get Dean to sign onto something else unwittingly. But I honestly don't see this coming to pass. I think the "Crowley owns Sam's soul" story is just that and nothing else...and I doubt that anything about why Sam came to get Dean will ever really be explained.

Yes, sleepy Dean does make up for a lot. But I am beginning to fear they will be looking for Sam's soul all season and I am already bored with it. I don't believe that Crowley could have Sam's soul. I just don't buy that he is that powerful. If they actually stick with that story I will be disappointed.

Me neither. After years of Biblical big bads, this is one underwhelming King of Hell.

asking wistfully for dean to get his soul back

How can he even want his soul back when he's not supposed to care about anything?

Sleepy!Dean is always a good thing.

Because I train dogs, I always get all critical about the training whenever I see dogs onscreen. All I could think about Lucky (besides how flippin' gorgeous he was) was, "He's staring too hard at his trainer and it's taking me out of the story." LOL Benji never stared at his trainer like that. /dog snobbery

I was surprisingly emotional when Robo-Sam told Dean that he didn't care about him at all. That was sad. :(

What's really sad is that the confession came as no surprise to me -- and it didn't look like it was much of a shock to Dean. It's been at least two years since Sam has appeared to care about Dean.

That's true, but he'd never come right out and said it like that. And I think he has felt that way since long before he lost his soul. :(
