Well, is Mr. Buffet taking the percentage of tax he saved by exploiting this loophole and donating it to charity? Seems to me the job classification is chosen for the purpose of getting a better tax rate. But that's just cynical ol' me.
Charity is a sticky subject because conservatives tend to use it as a weapon -- tax breaks for the wealthy let them give more to charity, if you make them pay more taxes, charities suffer blah blah blah. I would much rather have a fair taxation system than a handful of philanthropists. I don't really care what Buffet did with his tax break savings. Just the fact that he is owning up to the fact that the rich don't even need the tax breaks is good enough for me.
