I love these two caps from THAT scene at the end of 4:10. The first one because:

Jensen's eyes get extra green when he's tearing up. Christ he's beautiful.

The second because, just...the man pain. The world cannot handle this much man pain all at once!

I also love these two pics because the first one is from just before Dean starts confessing, the second is from just after. I love the way he just...just cracks for two minutes and then gets himself right back under control. OH...DEAN!!!

I know I'm probably far too befuddled by Jensen's beauty to make an objective judgement of his acting skills, but wow...I just think he's so...I don't know. So generous as an actor. He just puts it all out there.

*adores*

It's so intimate. It isn't exactly like seeing JENSEN, himself, completely break apart, but it's Dean doing that, no shadow of a doubt, and -- well, shit, that's some serious acting. He doesn't just PLAY Dean, he BECOMES Dean. It's sort of painful to see it happen, you know?

It is painful but you really have to admire it at the same time. This scene played by a less talented actor could have had laff riot potential -- personally I don't think the revelation here was all that unexpected and it wasn't, you know, unforgettable writing or anything but Jensen just SELLS it like there's no tomorrow.

I loved it because he was so restrained, but he still made me feel the anguish he was going through. He's a good actor, as well as being incredibly beautiful.

We've seen Dean cry before but never like this. And yet he still manages to suck it all back down after just a few sobs. I wonder if things will be different between Sam and Dean now.

Maybe now that Sam knows, it'll help him better understand how to help Dean (and how to be a little careful too. Dean seems to be just hanging on underneath that "normal" exterior; I don't think he could handle even a perceived condemnation/judgement coming from Sam.)

From Dean's part, my guess would be that he clams up again, keeps drinking and tries to act as if he's fine.

Two months until new episodes-and that's if SAG doesn't strike. Crap.

I just hope that Sam will pay a little more attention to Dean after this, look out for him a little more.

And what's this about a SAG strike!? I thought that was off the table!

Yeah, that sucks donkey balls, doesn't it? I live in LA and the writers' strike had a huge financial impact; I shudder to think what another strike would do. I couldn't believe they got the same idiotic, lame duck federal mediator that failed with the WGA talks. And now there's talk that SAG leadership wants to call a strike in time to screw over January's Golden Globes and then, the Academy Awards. Could just be posturing to scare the studios (like Uriel threatening Dean with hell *g*) but I dunno, SAG's leadership has to save face now and I think they'll really push their membership to strike. Hopefully, since they need 75% of respondents voting in favor, the actors will be worried enough about the economy to say no.

Really, would it have killed Sam to give his brother a hug at that moment? Geez...

Dean needs some comforting, damn it! After all he's done for Sam. :-(

I really wanted Sam to reach out to Dean also, but now I'm thinking Sam was either too stunned to do anything or else he knew that sometimes, when someone is pouring their heart out like that, the best thing you can do is give them space. Just the way Dean is turned away from Sam the whole time he's talking I think he might have really flinched from any contact at that point, and Sam knows his brother well enough to understand that.

Either that or Sam's an idiot...

I'm thinking that they want us to have our full attention on Dean and his manpain. Getting Sam to say/do anything would somewhat take some of that away. And I agree with Sam not really knowing what to do, as well as wanting to give Dean some space. I think it's the end scene of CSPLWD all over again!

That's a good point. I think they wanted to end on that sort of hopeless note and Sam reaching out to Dean would have diluted it.

But he fights very hard to get back under control. :(
