LOL...a comment from [livejournal.com profile] roque_clasique got me thinking about what Season 6 would be like if I were showrunner.

Well lemme tell ya.

Never been a big fan of the MoTWs so that's right out the ol' winder. There are only so many variations on ghosts, mythical creatures and pop-culture Judeo-Christianity and SPN has already covered most of them. Plus they've already ripped off so much from Neil Gaiman that the well's pretty dry there too.

I figure it's the last season so why not go nuts and treat it like a miniseries with 22 episodes. Just one long storyarc, that's what I like. Lost has been doing it for seven years, surely SPN can do it for one. I like journey-related stories so there'll be lots of traveling. One-shot characters that are interesting but never quirky. I hate quirky. Fuck that shit. What else do I like. Oh...I like Dean getting beaten up. So he'll get beaten up. A lot. Hmm, I also like post-apocalyptic stories...

Shit, you know what? I'd just jump the whole thing forward to 2014 Endverse and let 'er roll. 22 blazing eps of Dean, Castiel and Antichrist Sam. End the fuckin thing the way they ended The Road Warrior -- fire, smoke and "that was the last we ever saw of him."

Yes.

My wish for season 6 is fairly tame. Good old domestic!SamandDean. Sam doing his lawyer thing, Dean doing his garage thing, buying curtains together, all 22 episodes ...

I fully support this...especially the 'Dean getting beat up a lot' part.

Though I would make sure to include a thigh holster.

Hell Yeah!

I'm with your scenario!

The writers should go balls to the walls and fire the series three/five years into the future. Have something (maybe not the demons)horrible from the past 5 seasons running them into the ground every damned week and keep it continuous (like 24). Never let up on the angst. Never let up on the beatings. Never let up on the threat to either of their lives.

None of your simpering, whishy washy happy endings for me, man.

*Bangs fist on the table* Bring it on!!

Given how bored Jared has acted most of the season, and his stated desire for Sam to go evil, this is not a bad scenario at all. I agree they have to do a miniseries type of final season - one arc (which supposedly they've claimed they will do) that takes them through the series finale.

Sure, they could have season five end with Samifer - though that wouldn't be ending the Apocalypse scenario and they swore they'd do that; or, something else having taken over Sam as a remnant of the dust-up with Lucifer. Then Castiel is either completely fallen, or is given the choice to stick with Dean to hunt down and fight Evol!Sam, with the series ending at the point where Dean saves Sam.

Yeah, works for me. ;)

The season-long story arc worked well for Buffy too. But it can only be one season, or it turns into the X-Files.
