The episode starts off with Dean sprawled out very prettily having a nightmare about losing Castiel. They try to make it look like he's having nightmares in general but it's pretty obvious that he's traumatized over Cas. Oh, Dean! I'm traumatized too! Castiel loved you so very, very much, and you loved him too and never let him know! And now he's gone! Wake up, Dean! Wake up to your empty, empty, Casless life!

Then some other stuff happens. Roll credits.

Poor Dean, he did wake up but his whole world is grey without his fair feathered friend, isn't it....no wonder he's hitting the bottle so hard.. *sigh*
:D

See, and they want us to think he's hitting the bottle over Amy, when we all know it's really over Cas.

Zactly. And did you see this lovely vid by Ash? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz7LvNheFYo&feature=feedu

LOL! It's funny 'cuz it's true.

And you know the editors slipped in the dream about Cas behind Sera's back anyway - and put it first up, thus making it All About Castiel for Dean.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

For a minute I got excited thinking the dream was going to be ALL about Castiel, and then they threw all that other stuff in there. I find myself annoyed by the whole Amy story because, among other things, it means that Dean's grieving for Castiel will take a backseat to his guilt over killing Amy -- which looks like it's going to be hopelessly dragged out for much of the season.

I have barely any memory of that ep. Maybe I would have found it funnier if I watched Buffy/Angel?

[identity profile] oselle.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I think if you were a Buffy fan, it would at least have been a treat to see Spike and Cordelia in the same episode, but it didn't have much effect on me. I'm serious that the dream sequence was the highlight of the episode for me. Frankly, any time we get to see Dean sleeping, it's a highlight. I think I'd watch 40 minutes of him taking a nap.

The way the bloggers were going on about Cas, I thought we would get a bit more than two quick shots followed by the endless Sam/Amy who-ha! /whine

Are you at ChicCon?

You mean in the dream? Yeah, I didn't even pay attention to the rest of that stuff. It was all about Cas as far as I'm concerned.

Are you at ChicCon?

No, is that this week? I was in Chicago for business most of last week and I was hoping the two events wouldn't coincide. I think it would have killed me to be on some tradeshow floor knowing that Jensen and Misha were right there in town.

*snicker*

Other blogs are going on about Dean not killing the witches vs. killing Amy, Dean's functioning alchoholism, Sam exercising, blahblahblah. Leave it to you to get to the point.

DEAN DREAMED ABOUT CAS! :D

I'm not even a hardcore D/C girl, yet I wish they'd just shown Dean's head tossing back and forth while different snippets of Cas's voice overlapped in his head. But I guess TPTB would never allow something that overtly slashy that pleases the fans.

Even without overt slashiness, they're not going to let on how much Dean cared about Castiel. Only Ben Edlund let us see a glimpse of it in the second episode.

You pointed out the one part of the episode I gave a rat's ass about.

Though I must say, I turned to J and said, "Remember when Dean used to sleep in his boxers?" and she replied, "Boxer briefs, they were boxer briefs." /dreamy sigh/

Edit: I take it back...I also enjoyed the idea of Cordelia and Spike married to each other, but that only lasted like 30 seconds and then I was bored. Though they both look fabulous these days and I spent a large amount of time wanting to lick James, but whatever, I spend most of my days wanting to do that anyways.

Those were some skintight boxer briefs, as I recall. Black, skintight boxer briefs, that sexy bastard. When DID Dean start sleeping fully dressed? I think it's been ever since he came back from hell. Anyway, I do love watching him sleep, no matter the attire.
